Among several millions of singers or musicians in the whole world there are a small number of them who can earn their own living by only performing, and then only a few of them can get to be stars. A star have an intangible 'aura', which fascinate a lot of people, however, you cannot figure out whether it is an aura or not by looking at it alone. You can recognize it as an 'aura' only when you compare it with a 'stuff'. Mr. Katuya Nomura, a noted old-time Japanese baseball player, once refered to the then contemporary Mr. Shigeo Nagashima and himself as 'sunflower and night primrose'. It's true that we enjoy watching a baseball game only with a star player, but even the star cannot play the game without any rivals. Also in the field of music there are some who put up with being night primroses even if they aspire to be sunflowers and have such amount of talent, and then there are others who aim to be 'stuffs' with a resolute attitude. Here I dare to lay eyes on night primrose out of two which can never seperate each other like the light and the shadow. (2004/11/05)
